About Halalify Music
Halalify Music answers one question — is this song halal? — the honest way: per school, with sources. Search any song and it returns a verdict under each of six frameworks of Islamic jurisprudence — Ayatollah Sistani and Ayatollah Khamenei on the Shia side, and the Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, and Hanbali madhabs — with the reasoning and the primary text each verdict rests on. Most tools flatten this into a single answer; the schools genuinely differ, so we don't.
Who builds Halalify?
Halalify Music is built by AK, founder of Marefa Source AI, an independent studio in Houston, Texas building research tools grounded in primary Islamic texts. The founder publishes pseudonymously by choice — the work is designed to be checked against its sources rather than taken on personal authority. Every ruling page links the primary texts it rests on: Ayatollah Sistani's Code of Practice, Ayatollah Khamenei's jurisprudence Q&A, Ibn Qudamah's al-Mughni, and the madhab literature documented in our methodology.
How does the analysis work?
You search a song; the AI analyzes its lyrics, themes, and musical character against each school's documented criteria — Sistani's entertainment-gatherings test, Khamenei's lahwi standard, and the four madhabs' instrument and content rules — and returns a per-school verdict on a 1–5 scale with the reasoning behind it. Is Halalify a fatwa service?
No. Halalify is an educational research tool. It compiles and presents what qualified scholars of each school have already ruled, applied to individual songs, so you can see the position of the school you personally follow. It does not issue religious rulings, and a Halalify verdict is not a substitute for consulting a qualified scholar about your personal circumstances.
How do I report a mistake in an analysis?
Email support@halalify.app with the page URL, the specific claim you believe is wrong, and the source that corrects it. Reports are checked against the primary sources each verdict cites — sistani.org, leader.ir, and the classical madhab texts listed on the methodology page — and the content is updated where the correction holds. The page's dateModified reflects when that happened.
