Copyright Policy and Takedown Requests

By the Halalify Editorial Team, reviewed against primary sources · Edited by AK, Marefa Source AI · Last reviewed:

Halalify Music respects copyright. If you own rights in material that appears on this service, this page explains how to tell us and what we do about it.

What material this covers

To analyze a song, our servers look up its lyrics from third-party sources and pass the text to an AI model. We keep the lyrics text we used with the resulting analysis, so that a verdict can always be traced back to the words it was based on. Song titles, artist names, album artwork and metadata come from music databases such as Apple iTunes and Deezer. If you hold rights in any of that material, the process below applies.

Sending us a notice

Email support@halalifymusic.com with Copyright Notice in the subject line. So that we can act on it, please include the elements listed in 17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3):

Notices that leave out the material we are meant to remove cannot be acted on, so please be specific.

What we do when we receive one

We review every complete notice and, where it is valid, remove or disable access to the identified material promptly. For lyrics, that means deleting the stored lyrics text from the affected analyses; the scholarly verdict and its reasoning remain, without the quoted words. We keep a record of the notice and of what we removed, and we tell the account that submitted the song, where there is one.

If you are unsure whether an issue is a copyright matter, write to us anyway at support@halalifymusic.com and we will tell you.

Counter-notice

If you believe material of yours was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address, including your signature, identification of the removed material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification, and your name, address, telephone number and consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if you are outside the United States, any district in which we may be found).

Repeat infringers

Accounts that repeatedly submit material that is the subject of valid takedown notices may be suspended or terminated.

Fair use and quotation

The editorial articles on this site quote primary-source religious texts and scholarly rulings for educational commentary, with attribution. That is a separate matter from the song material above, and any concern about it can be raised at the same address.
